About Cruise Radio
If this is your first time on the site, thanks so much for dropping in. If you’re looking for unbiased cruise vacation information, you’ve come to the right place.
What is Cruise Radio?
Founded in 2009, Cruise Radio — along with sister podcast Cruise Radio News — has become a trusted resource for travelers. The website features news, reviews and original content which can’t be found anywhere else, while the weekly podcast offers insider tips, interviews and reviews from actual passengers whose cruising experiences can help listeners decide what ships, activities and shore excursions are right for them.
The podcast has also broadcast live from ships around the world, giving listeners an experience that is the next best thing to being there themselves!

Meet The Team
Doug is the creator, producer and literal voice of Cruise Radio. With over a decade of on-air experience, his engaging personality and entertaining interview style has turned Cruise Radio into a popular resource for cruise lovers and a trusted industry resource. When not aboard a ship, Doug can be found planning his next voyage, running (in order to work off all those buffet visits) and rooting on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Heather Fasching is a writer and cruise addict. She enjoys introducing others to cruising and keeping readers stocked with the best cruise travel tips. She loves to explore new ports of call and always tries to sail on a different ship if she can (although she’s not picky). Heather loves cruises so much that she even decided to get married on one. Follow her on Instagram at @heathercruises.
Richard Simms is the executive editor of Soaps in Depth magazine and author of several novels. Given his love of eating, drinking and gambling, it’s astonishing how long it took him to discover the joys of cruising. While he has more Twitter handles than most people have limbs, you can most easily reach him at @howrudeareyou.
Chris Owen is a travel writer from Orlando Florida charged with sharing frank, inside information on cruise vacations with travelers. Certified a Master Cruise Counselor by the Cruise Lines International Association, Chris can be found via the popular travel blog, ChrisCruises.com.
Nancy Schretter of Family Travel Network is an award-winning travel journalist and editor and contributes to several radio shows. Stewart Chiron, The Cruise Guy®, is one of the world’s most quoted cruise industry experts. He’s a regular contributor on trends and deals for leading news organizations, like ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, WGN, Good Morning America, CNBC, Travel Channel and CNN. Email: [email protected]
Sherry Laskin has been active in the cruise industry since 1995 and created Cruise Maven website in 2007 out of her love of cruising. An advocate for slow travel, Sherry explores the world only on cruise ships, river ships, road trips and trains. When she’s not traveling, Sherry collects cookbooks, tests her culinary ability and plans the next podcast episode for River Cruise Radio.
